Did you know that about 23% of all cases of rabies in California come from skunks?

Video: Why You Need a Professional to Remove a Skunk

Some residents try to trap skunks on their own. While it can be difficult to catch skunks, once they are caught, the homeowner has to think about what he will do with the caught skunk. If you are not a wildlife expert, you probably will get sprayed by it. The spray does not only hit the person trying to extract the skunk from the trap, but the spray will be taken in the air to the nearest object which is in most cases the home. It will take sometimes 2 weeks before the smell leaves the home. Also, this video shows them trying to relocate the skunk. In California, that is a violation of the law. Wild animals are not allowed to be relocated. They must either be released or euthanized.
